    Hurworth Cottage
A colonial cottage built in 1855, Hulworth Cottage is worth visiting not only to explore its charming character, but to learn of its historical significance; it was once home to four times premier of New Zealand, Harry Atkinson. The home, built by Atkinson himself, is decorated in its original modest elegance and includes the family china and Atkinson's parliamentary desk. Open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
